| CRIS’s vision is to help people who get released from prison to stay away from criminality and drugs by offering them a new, honourable and drug free social network. | ||

An important step within this process is to be able to meet the person outside the prison at the time of their release. |

| Prisoners with a background on drugs or alcohol seem to return very quickly to their old “friends”. A release from prison is often celebrated with a booze cruise or a drug injection. Occasionally old “friends” meet newly released prisoners outside the prison with a can of beer or an injection. If this happens, the ex-prisoners don’t have a chance to do something about their addiction nor criminality. However, CRIS can offer a release without alcohol, narcotics or new plans for crime. | ||
| What does it take to be able to get a CRIS pick-up from jail? | ||
| We demand that the prisoner has been in direct contact with us. If the prisoners themselves don’t ask for the pick-up – it won’t happen | ||

If somebody contacts us, we will arrange to meet them and talk things through with them. If we find that this is someone who really wants to start a new life without drugs and criminality, we will of course be there for them and meet them when they are released. |

| What happens on the day of the release? | ||
|
The day the CRIS member is about to get released our first thought is that they should be able to choose what to do with their lives. We will be there to support them, within our budget limits. |
